Invisalign Travel Tips: 4 Ways to Help You Stay on Track
August 8, 2025
When you started your Invisalign treatment, you may have since taken the time to perfect your aligner routine. You may have a setup at home that you fine-tuned to be as efficient as possible. However, if you are planning a trip, then you may wonder what you can do to take care of your trays. Keep reading to learn four tips to help you stick to your routine to avoid any delays in your smile-straightening journey!
1.) Pack Your Dental Essentials
If you have packed a toiletries bag beforehand, then it may largely stay the same with your Invisalign. You should keep a travel toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, and some floss in it. Keeping these in a smaller, more convenient pouch can help ensure you keep your essentials with you while you are exploring during your trip and never far from what you need to clean out your grin.
2.) Keep Up with Your Oral Hygiene Routine
Not being in your normal environment might make it a bit easier to relax. You are away from your stressors, so you may find yourself going with the flow a bit more. However, this can lead you to not wear your Invisalign fully. It’s important to stick with the 20- to 22-hour wear time. Not reaching the full amount can cause delays, so you may find it helpful to put on some timers while you are eating!
3.) Bring an Extra Case and Aligners
It’s important to plan ahead while you are preparing for your travels. If you know that you will be away from your home for a few weeks or months, then you should bring some extra aligners. You will be able to switch over to your next set and keep your treatment on track. Additionally, packing an extra case may be helpful if you accidentally lose one while you are moving around.
4.) Have a Few Bottles of Water Nearby
Regardless of whether you’re flying or driving for your trip, the bathrooms you have access to may not be the cleanest, or you may feel wary of using the water from the sink. Instead, you should buy some bottled water and keep it in your bag. Using them when it’s time for your oral hygiene routine can help you feel more comfortable.
You should be excited about your upcoming travels! Thankfully, exploring with Invisalign can be an easy feat by following the tips above. They can help ensure you stay on track toward results that you feel more confident in.
